When I sit down to create a collage, I usually have no idea where it’s going, so I flip through saved magazine and catalogs until something jumps out to me.

I like to pair text and image; for a sketchbook cover that just seems right. Sometimes the text jumps out first, but most of the time as I look a theme starts to show itself; an expression on a model that matches a work from a headline, a room or space that is begging for a model, etc.

When I’m assembling the collage, I prefer to work with small prices so they don’t get wrinkly from the moisture in the mod podge. Large images usually get torn and reassembled. I think adds to the texture of the collage.
